Steve’s New Home

For many years I’ve had the desire to purchase a home, so I’ve been looking around the Cotopaxi area since last fall hoping to find a place reasonably close to Journey Quest’s boathouse. I looked at this house back in February, but it was still priced out of my reach at that time, and soon it went off the market. Looking up at the backIn late June, I was driving around with some friends to show them the area, and noticed it was back on the market, now listed for $23,000 less! So I contacted my realtor and made an even lower offer. A couple days later I got a call telling me that they had accepted my offer! That’s when the real work began — filling out paperwork, applying for a loan, searching for insurance, etc. I was finally able to close on the house on August 24th, one day before heading off to Utah to guide a week-long trip on the Green River.

We returned from the Green River and I’ve spent much of the past couple weeks moving in, fixing small issues and getting settled. The home is much bigger than I need, so I’m asking the Lord how He wants me to use so much space. It is a 2-story modular over a full walk-out basement. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a nice kitchen & dining room, living room, a large family room, an attached 2-car garage, and a huge detached workshop & garage. I got a really good deal and my monthly payments are about half of what a home like this would probably rent for! I’m very thankful for God’s provision!

Here is a quick video tour I put together:
