A few days ago a “memory” showed up on my Facebook feed. It was from five years ago at the start of our first summer here at Journey Quest — the day I guided my first guests down the Arkansas River.
It’s so hard to believe that five years have passed and we’re already into our sixth summer of ministry here at Journey Quest!
We started our staff training in mid-May, and at the end of May we had the first of many week-long trips, a group from Veritas Academy. It was an awesome group of students who had just finished 9th grade. They rock climbed, rafted Brown’s Canyon, hiked a mountain, and then rafted Bighorn Sheep Canyon with us and had a blast, but more importantly it was a time of intense spiritual growth! Check out this trip report video a couple of our guides put together:
The next few weeks will likely be the busiest of our summer. It’s going to get really crazy! Here are a few ways you can pray:
- Pray for God to use us to impact the guests who are coming — whether they’re already Christ-followers taking their next step in their Journey, or if they’re just taking the first step into faith in Jesus.
- Pray for safety for the 300+ guests who will be here for multi-day trips and the many more who will come for single day rafting or rock climbing.
- Pray for provision: we just had a Suburban break down and have an immediate need for a 4wd vehicle that can transport 8 or more people to trailheads for peak hikes and backpacking. We’re also beginning fundraising for a new building that will be our main headquarters (more on this later).
And here are a few photos, just for fun:
